Thick Homemade Chips make a great comfort food meal which can be eaten on their own or dipped in your preferred sauce. Usually when I cook a dish that has sauce in it, for example a casserole I keep some of the sauce in the fridge for ocassions like this one. Here I will be showing you how I make mine.
INGREDIENTS: (1 serving)
2 Extra large potatoes
Oil (vegetable or sunflower)
1: Peel the potato and cut into 1.5cm thick chips.
2: Grab a cooking pot, add the chips and cover with water. Boil for 10 minutes.
3: Drain the water and put the chips on top of some kitchen towels, pat the chips until they are dried out.
4: Place a large frying pan on high heat and add enough oil so that when you add the chips they are covered. Make sure that the oil is very hot and then add the chips. Fry them until they are golden brown. Take them out and place them on kitchen towels to take the excess oil away, add salt and then put them on a plate accompanied with your favourite sauce.
