Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce

How to make a Thai Sweet Chilli Sauce.

Ingredients: Serves 10

  • ½ cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3-4 cloves Garlic (Chopped)
  • 2 teaspoon Red Chilli Flakes
  • 1 cup Water
  • ¼ cup Rice Vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Sambal Oelek
  • 1 tablespoon Fish Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 and ½ tablespoon Cornstarch


  1. Add sugar, garlic, red chilli flakes, water, vinegar, salt, ketchup, sambal oelek and fish sauce in a pan and bring it to a boil.
  2. Mix cornflour with little water to make a lump free mixture and add it slowly in the pan.
  3. Cook for 3-4 minutes until sauce thickens a bit.
  4. Remove the pan from heat and let it cool.
  5. Transfer in a glass bottle and refrigerate for about a month.
  6. Use as and when required.
