
How to make South African Yellow Rice.
INGREDIENTS: Serves 2
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 3/4 cups water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 cinnamon stick
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil.
- Cover with the lid, reduce the heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and allow it to sit, covered for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork and serving!
