There are many ways to do this dish but this is how I like to do mine. They say that this dish was created in the late 19th century by a french chef living in Russia though they also say that it was invented by a russian in the early 19th century. You can choose yourself whom to believe, but this is my own version of a russian salad which is a very popular dish in Spain. You can read more in WikiPedia.

INGREDIENTS: (for 6 – 8 people)

1 Kg Potatoes

100g Frozen peas

6 Eggs

300g Tinned tuna

450g Jar of mayonnaise

12 Olives

1 Red pepper in brine





1: Boil the eggs, when they are done peel them and leave them to one side.

2: Cut the potatoes into small thin slices.

3: Open the tins of tuna and drain the oil. Leave to one side.

4: Grab a large cooking pot, add the potatoes, peas and a sprinkle of salt. Boil until they are soft. Drain the water.

5: Grab a large bowl for mixing the ingredients. Add the potatoes, peas and the tuna. Add the mayonnaise. Cut 5 eggs into small pieces and add them too. Mix everything well and when ready pour all the contents into a serving dish.

6: Slice the red pepper. Cut the egg into slices.

7: Decorate the top with the slices of egg and red pepper. Place the olives on top too. Place in the fridge to cool down for 2 hours and then serve.

8: Enjoy… With some crusty bread!
