Hake & Potato Stew

How to make a Hake and Potato Stew.

Ingredients: Serves 4

  • 1Kg hake, cut into thick slices
  • 250ml Water
  • 3 ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
  • Fresh parsley
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Salt

Method:

  1. In a casserole pot add a generous splash of oil, the chopped onion and garlic and let it poach for about 10 minutes.
  2. Add the diced potatoes and stir until golden brown.
  3. Remove the pan from the heat and add the tablespoon of paprika. 
  4. Add the peeled and chopped tomatoes along with the parsley and let it cook for 10 more minutes.
  5. After that time, pour the water and let it cook for 15 minutes with the lid on.
  6. Add the pieces of hake and let it cook for five minutes.
  7. Turn off the heat and let it rest another five minutes.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
