Clams with Mustard

How to make Clams with Mustard.


  • 1 kg (2 1/4 pounds) clams
  • 50 ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
  • 8 cloves of garlic
  • Coriander (to taste)
  • 125 grams (4 1/2 ounces) yellow mustard


  1. Soak the clams in water seasoned with salt for about 1 to 2 hours.
  2. Wash them under running water before cooking.
  3. Put the olive oil and the unpeeled crushed garlic in a frying pan and cook over low heat for about 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the clams, stir, cover the pan with a lid and cook over low heat until the clams start to open.
  5. Shake the skillet occasionally.
  6. When the clams start to open, add the mustard and the chopped coriander.
  7. Mix well and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Turn off the heat and serve with fresh crusty bread for dipping in the delicious sauce!
