Chicken & Cabbage Stew

How to make a Chicken and Cabbage Stew.

Ingredients: Serves 4

  • 4 chicken thighs (skinless, halved lengthwise)
  • 1 lb cabbage (finely chopped)
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1 carrot (grated)
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 150 ml water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • salt and spices (curry, ground pepper) to taste


  1. Grab the chicken thighs and season with salt and spices.
  2. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Pour the oil into a pot.
  4. Place chicken thighs into the pot and fry on both sides until browned.
  5. Add the onion and fry until golden.
  6. Mix cabbage and carrot and season with salt.
  7. Mix water, tomato paste and sugar.
  8. Add everything to the chicken pot.
  9. Cover the pot and cook on medium-high heat for 30 minutes.
